For nearly 50 years, Gillette has been more than just a place to live—it has been my home, my community, and the place where my family has grown and thrived. My journey to public service began long before I entered city politics; it began at 17, when I volunteered for the U.S. Army to serve our country. That early commitment to something greater than myself has been the compass for my entire life, whether I was serving as a soldier, a railroader, a Deputy Coroner, or your City Councilman.
I am not running for Mayor because I seek the title. I am running because I believe in the resilience and the potential of Gillette. I have spent my life working on the front lines—on the railroad, in public safety, and in our parks—and I know that the best solutions don’t come from behind a desk. They come from listening, showing up, and doing the hard, honest work necessary to keep our community strong. I am asking for your vote because I want to continue that work as your Mayor, ensuring that Gillette remains a safe, vibrant, and prosperous place for our children and grandchildren to call home.
My Journey of Service
Military Dedication At 17, I volunteered for the U.S. Army, serving as a Field Artillery crew member with the 101st Airborne Division in Vietnam. This experience taught me the value of integrity, discipline, and looking out for the person standing next to you—lessons I bring to my role as a public servant every single day.
A Career of Hard Work I moved to Gillette in 1979 and spent 34 years with the BNSF Railroad. That career taught me the importance of reliability and grit. Following my retirement, I sought new ways to serve, eventually taking on the responsibilities of a Deputy Coroner. This role has given me a deep, compassionate understanding of our neighbors’ most difficult moments and the importance of being a steady hand when our community needs one most.
Rooted in Gillette My life is built here in Campbell County. My wife, Toby Lynn, and I have raised our three daughters here, and today we take great pride in our community—from the work we do maintaining Sunburst Park together to my advocacy for our local veterans and mental health initiatives. I am a neighbor who is fully invested in our shared future, and I am honored by the opportunity to earn your trust as we move forward together.
